October 3, 200520 yr I'd just like to hope the following individuals enjoy the playoffs. Jason Schmidt. Eric Chavez. Dmitri Young. A.J. Burnett. The Devil Rays GM Chuck Lamar. Ken Griffey. Wes Helms. And every other player we spent so much time discussing prior to the trade deadlines. Jay Mariotti, of course. And as always, every Cub fan in the world.

October 3, 200520 yr Contreras and whomever (Rowand, Sweeney, Anderson) for AJ Burnett. that would have been a difference-making trade

No disrespect to the Twins and White Sox, I just feel that club, the doggone Indians, is going to be the thorn in our side." -Dmitri Young "They are a good team, but I don't think they are the best team. They are not better than we are." - Casey Blake hahahaha...Nuff said.

October 3, 200520 yr QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) When did we try to get him? For some reason people were thinking he was gonna be included in the podsednik trade. Then people starting thinking ginter was gonna be the player to be named later... even though major leaguers are almost never a player to be named later.

October 3, 200520 yr The Reds GM is going to have what he thinks is the last laugh when we get swept out of the playoffs for lack of offensive production. Thing is, he's going to be laughing from the perpetual last place that he helped put his team into. That's not much of a laugh.

Maybe if you would say *if* we get swept, but it sounds like you expect us to get swept.

October 3, 200520 yr QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Oct 2, 2005 -> 09:46 PM) Maybe if you would say *if* we get swept, but it sounds like you expect us to get swept. Don't worry about him this is what he does, I can't even call him a pessimist because he's worse then that. I believe he slotted us for 75 wins this year.
October 3, 200520 yr The sad reality is a pessimist will always have the last laugh unless the Sox win the World Series.
October 3, 200520 yr QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) The sad reality is a pessimist will always have the last laugh unless the Sox win the World Series. The sad reality is that the Sox have had a fantastic year the was totally unexpected and the pessimists were too busy being pessimistic to actually enjoy one the best seasons the Sox ever had. There's a bit of ironic justice there, I think.
