UNC wasn't exactly stellar on D and often looked a little sloppy as well last year, they did pretty well. Illinois wasn't exactly elite on defense either.

In a weak field, I don't see them laying an egg. Their only real flaws are spotty shot selection and free throw shooting. Their domiance on the boards and typically good defense should probably overcome that at least until the Final Four.

HEY!! A nice short post from Zoom!! Your one of my fav posters, but man you need to do short and sweet posts like this more often.

Typically I have more thoughts to get out there, especially when responding to a somewhat long post.

I still say I should be getting at least 2 to 1 credit on my post count. :bang

Just thought I'd throw out another interesting nugget that's somewhat related to my last post:

The last team that won a National Championship without at least two future NBA players on the roster was the 1988 Kansas squad led by Danny Manning. Something to keep in mind when filling out your brackets, since it probably excludes a couple of teams of note.

Yes sir, I remember B & B talking about this either last year or in 2004. Not a surprising stat, but an interesting one.

Great block and score by Diefendorf.

SU 71 UConn 69 with a bit under 1 min left.

Cuse had the stop, but McNamara traveled while trying to secure the ball.

Results in a big 3 by Anderson.

Oh wow, McNamara walks because of turning an ankle after having a rebound that coulda caused a foul and gave Syracuse a shot at going up 4. UConn ball with 39 seconds and a fresh 35 on the shot clock.

Anderson HITS A THREE!! UConn by 1. First lead for them today. 27 seconds left, TO Cuse.

Wow GMac had a rebound to seal the deal but he turned his ankle and traveled. Then Anderson nails a trey...

WOW

Beat you guys to it. :D

oh wow, Cuse gets a great look and misses. Foul with 11 seconds left.

Damn, that shot almost dropped. Wrong guy taking it though.

Wright misses an acrobatic floater. Brown to the line, hits both.

Cuse down 3, 11.2 left.

GW loses, Bubble teams everywhere crying.

MCNAMARA SENDS IT TO OT

WHOA!!

I'd be curious to look back and see who was the last team that had less than 3 future pros that won it. Maybe Cuse a few years back? I can't remember if that had anyone that already is in the pros besides Carmelo.

oh wow.

Man, i love college basketball

Great D, UConn.

Mark my words they will not win the tournament.

I think Marcus Williams was thinking about which laptop he was going to steal off of pressrow rather than guarding McNamara.

Damn, how did I forget Warrick. He had the key block. :bang You gotta go back a ways then, probably 1994 Arkansas.

Yeah, I think Thurman played in the NBA (he sucked ass though) Williamson of course, and I think that was it for them in terms of NBA players. 40 minutes of hell and Thurman and Williamson playing over their heads hid the lack of talent.

Gotta love walking right in from class to see that gmac shot.

No kidding. I love March.

I mentioned this in the other thread about NIU, but damn. Down 21 with 14 minutes left, only to lose by 1 point. I hate Rob Judson, and the sad part is he saved his job probably by winning the MAC West in the RS. Now I know how you feel Heads.
