The no villian World Series

Featured Replies

This series has no obvious villains and a bunch of feel good stories in both dugouts. A bunch of good citizens, no juicers, no "evil empire", and lovable players on both sides.

That could explain some of the coverage and fan interest.

Who would be the villain?

Though, I don't agree with it. A few fan bases label AJ as a villian. And even more surprisingly, some put Mark in that category as well. Even Ozzie is looked at in the wrong light by some fans.

we're the villains, we keep "stealing" games and paying off the umps.

i love it.

The only Astro I don't like is Phil Garner.

I totally agree except I dont like Clemens either, I was one of many to boo his ass at the All-Star Game.

Andy Pettitte gets on my nerves, actually.

He'll always be a Yankee to me, so he joins Clemens on my "ugh" list.

I agree.

Very likable bunch, those Astros. If not for the White Sox, I'd be rootin' for them against any other AL team this year.

Who would be the villain(s)?

Why, the umpires, of course.

At least, they're the usual suspects promoted by the media.

garner may be a mediocre manager and possibly a bum (simply because hes not affiliated with the white sox), but i dont specifically hate him or anything. i fail to see a villian in this series.

houston is simply a team that i have never had an opportunity to hate before.

:notworthy

I think he brings up a good point. I can't believe I missed the obvious target.

Yeah, go tell that to Rex Hudler. That girl just NEVER gets it. Not that I'm complaining, you understand. :headshake

On a related note, why can't Soxtalk have a more visible "green" font color, like the teal one WSI uses, for instance? Sometimes I just don't see the irony.
