October 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(Coasterbill @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 05:13 PM) The Astros should have control over thier roof. It's thier stadium. Catch 22. It's MLB's game. And... is it the Astro's...? Or is it Minute Maid's... ?
October 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) It's MLB's show. I don't disagree...but I wish they could just say, "Here's our rule...it's open when it's below X degrees out and not raining. No exceptions." There shouldn't be any ad hoc efforts. One rule for the season and post-season, and put it in the official rule book for everyone to see.
October 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) I don't disagree...but I wish they could just say, "Here's our rule...it's open when it's below X degrees out and not raining. No exceptions." There shouldn't be any ad hoc efforts. One rule for the season and post-season, and put it in the official rule book for everyone to see. There is an official rule... MLB controls the playoffs and all aspects of it. Like I said before.. this is about $$. The blimp paid a rumored $4 million $$'s to show the above shots. MLB isn't about to give that $$ back - not to mention the teams since that $$ goes into the pool to be split with the players. If the Stros want the roof closed so badly cough up the cash and they can close their roof.
October 25, 200520 yr Closing the roof is a rule of Major League Baseball. Houston's disadvantage. Having the pitcher hit is a rule of Major League Baseball. Chicago's disadvantage. All the media and the Astros should stop b****ing and play baseball.
