Linder Agrees to Sell Reds

CINCINNATI -- Carl Lindner agreed Wednesday to sell the controlling interest in the Cincinnati Reds to a group of area businessmen, keeping baseball's first professional franchise in local hands.

The group is headed by Robert Castellini, chairman of a Cincinnati-based produce company, and relatives of a family that owned the team when it became the Big Red Machine in the 1970s. The sale must be approved by Major League Baseball.

Their new ownermight not have a lot of influence over what happens with the Reds and their outfield situation, but there is a chance that a guy comes in and moves Griffey somewhere (or tries to)

Griffey is ours!

I would drop the green. I could really see this happening. Seriously.

Depends how desperate the new ownership is to dump payroll I suppose. Of course signing players like Eric Milton got them into that mess in the 1st place.

I could see Griffey happening if PK were to go.

Robert Castellini is glad he has Iffy Griffey over BMAC and Jenks I bet.
