Midway Airport Question

Featured Replies

Where is the Customs Office at Midway?

Is it all housed in the main terminal, or is it in a separate building away from the terminal like some airports?

I don't think they have international flights, so they might not need customs. :huh

IIRC Concourse A has the Customs Area. Looking for a friend?

Oh they definitely have international flights. They charter to Mexico (Cancun, etc) all the time.

My mom is going to Cancun, and they were trying to figure out if they were going to have to be outside when they got back. I guess that Indianapolis the Customs area is in another building and they make you stand outside when going from the plane to and through Customs.

You know what, you're right. Come to think of it, we made that exact same trip to Cancun out of Midway, I'd forgotten about that. I can't remember where we did customs on the way back though, sorry.

I can't tell from the map, but some of the verbage when I did a search seems to indicate that it's inside the main set of terminals, somewhere.

Just called, it's in the Lower level. It is not accessible to the public, only to people getting off of planes.

You owe me turkey left overs. :cheers

Midway doesn't have international flights outside of the occasional cancun and canadian flight because the runways are too short. The bigger jets need longer runways than the busiest square mile of aviation can handle. That's why they fly to O'Hare.

I know - but I do know about the charter flights to Cancun, which I guess is what my mom's going to be on. It's an ATA flight, I guess...

Right now they are keeping everything separate - but Southwest owns a good part of ATA, I Forget the details at this moment.

Southwest also blocked some of Ata's routes. ATA used to fly LA to Chicago, now all those flights are Southwest flights.
