Unfortunately then the earth's mantle would begin to upwell due to the load being released from it, the upwelling would lead to partial melting and volcanism which would generate new land in that spot.

And this time ten new religions would claim it as their holiest of spots

I have always suspected that is true, now that I'm learning a little history, it has become clearer that you are correct. So now we have a whose sword is mightier situation that will probably last forever.

Its gone on for about 5000 years so far, so I don't see much happening to change that.

The longer the Jews have to wait to rebuild that temple, the better.  If you believe the way some people translate the Bible, then the temple has to be built in the same location for the third time before the end can come.

yeah it all depends on what you believe...

How can it be *your* homeland if you never lived there? Imagine if we decided to displace people and give native Americans the land. Say Manhatten? I never thought about the significance of what was done back then. We are worried about increased government abuse of emminent domain here, imagine on a worldwide scale.

Again, if it was such an important area, how did the Palestinians come to own most of it?  I am now understanding some of the historical issues. Where Jews from Germany expected to pack up and move to the Middle East? There is a twisted side to this, round up the Jews and send them to one place?

This is fascinating now that I woke up. I never really linked the guilty (Nazis) with who else paid for those sins (Palistinians).

Is it correct to say without the Nazis, there would be no Israel. Was there any sort of a movement prior to the war to create a nation?

Actually, there was a document in 1917 that was meant to create a Jewish state that included modern Israel and Jordan. The British were given control of that area when the Ottoman Empire collasped after WWI. They gave that land in the Balfour Declaration that was supported by the US and Soviet Union.

There has been a Zionist movement as far back as 1917, I believe , led by Theodor Herzl.

Where the Iranian president, (and many of you) is (are) mistaken is, the UN "gave" Israel to the Jews because the land upon which Israel is located is the Biblical and historical Jewish homeland. (It was never home to the "palestinians"...NEVER!)

BTW...Ethiopia was one one the countries which was considered to be "given" as the Jewish state.

the president of Iran is the best.

Your "name" really fits you.

What an idiot.

Here is a simplification of the issue...let's suppose your next door neighbor had a son that, for whatever reason, was thrown out of his house. Out of the kindness of your heart, you allow him to live in your house until he can go home.

Eventually he gets so comfortable in your house (because he has many more rights and freedoms there) that he decides that your house is his house.

Now he wants his friends and family to enjoy the same rights and freedoms he has, so he tries to get them to move in to your house. When you explain to him that you don't have room for all these people, he tells you that he will kill you and your family members so that his "people" can take over your home.

(In case you were wondering, your home represents Israel, and your neighbor represents the "palestinians".)

I agree whole heartily with your example, except, when Israel was created in the 1940s, wasn't it more like this example?

The neighbor comes to you and proclaims, my great grandfather lived in your house, you have to move out. Even the United Nations agrees, you have to leave.

(in case you are wondering, you are a Palestinian and your neighbor is a Jew from anywhere in the world)

You left out the prefix "over" in the fourth word of your first sentence, SBMI. I think we all know that this subject is way more complicated than this.
