UPDATE: Today in class we stood for the pledge. He called it state mandated patriotism. He went on to explain how hypocritical it was of the state and the school to enforce the pledge after 9/11. So, I'm sitting there wanting to tell him off but, I resisted the urge. Later in class he starts talking about how Judge Alito is a hypocrite. I said," tell me how." He rambled on for about 5 minutes why. Then I said, "No, you want to know what is hypocritical? Having Ted Kennedy questioning the ethics and character of Judge Alito." He just stood there in shock. He didn't have any come back for it. It was the greatest look I had ever seen on a teachers face. I took a stand and dammit it felt good

Good for you, just be careful. Maybe start documenting all of your "run-ins" in case he gives you an undeserved grade.

No, I don't.

He was 30, but I guess facts and details don't matter when it comes to bashing a President.

FWIW, he also got slightly better grades at Yale than Kerry even though Kerry was always portrayed as being more intelligent.

Two things...

1. Grades Intelligence (that's not equal to, for any non tech folks)

2. Every man to ever serve as President, including this one, is very intelligent. Genius, in most cases. Like them or not, it's true. You just can't rise to that level without that tool. Bush comes off as not very bright because he is a piss-poor public speaker. But he's no idiot. I wouldn't say he's the most intelligent Prez ever either, of course. But dumb he is not.

I can agree with that.

Me too. That's why I said FWIW. We all know that Bush isn't the best public speaker..

He's horrible actually. What makes him seem even worse is having to follow one of the best ever in Clinton. Bush's dad had the same problem with Reagan.

You ain't seen nothing yet.

Wait till' you get to college, kid.

It seems each and every college professor is an ultra-liberal and they simply relish every opportunity to throw their left-wing agenda in your face.

I really don't care if you are a liberal or not; diversity is what makes a college campus so great. But, if you are a paid professional, don't you f***ing dare preach to me. It's low. It's classless. And, I think they end up turning more students off then they do "rally for the cause."

You are a professor paid to teach students on a given subject. You are not paid to soapbox your political beliefs.

Liberace'? ... There are two things I don't play, one of which is the piano.

I see you've taken one of Fred Gottheil's classes.

God is that guy a douche.

I had this computer science professor about three years ago who would preach to us all the time. He liked to talk about what a terrible human being Abraham Lincoln was, how the world was going to have a universal currency and police force in the near future, and also that there was some conspiracy in place to put Hillary in the White House in '08 (and she will be the last US president).

The only positive thing about having this guy as a professor was that he gave the entire class (>500 students) an A grade because it was his last semester at the school, he was leaving to become a full-time whistleblower.
