I think you overrate the impact our last pitcher out of the pen will have on this team.

yeah you're probably right, but my argument hinges more on the lucky last year than on the bullpen. Also, I don't see any huge indications that our offense is THAT much better than last year's. Thome is huge, but there are a loooot of question marks: Will Iguchi perform well as a soph in his new spot? Does Uribe have the patience to be a #2 hitter (probably yes, but who knows)? Does Crede get some consistency? Will Anderson be any good as an every day player? Does AJ hit .250 or .300? Those probably won't all turn out positively, so I do have some questions still, although we're definitely improved.

Basically what it comes down to, is that we're improved on paper on both offense and pitching, but our string of excellent close-game performances will likely come to earth a little. Probably, our improvements will compensate and we'll end up similar to last year. The only difference is, this year we'll be more sound in our victories, most likely.

I didn't wanna make a new thread, so I added that comment to my already existing thread. I've already listed my predictions for the year.

I predict that none of your predictions come true.

I say at the very worst 3 of the 5 come true.
