For those that are new, you may not have known, but SoxTalk holds their own Pick to Click contest throughout the season. It's similar to what Hawk and DJ do in the booth before the games. We welcome all the new members and returnees to play along all season!

Here are the rules and how scoring is done; good luck!

Rules and Scoring:

1 pick per person per game. (so if there's a double header, you get 2 picks...one for each game)

If the highest scoring player is not picked by anyone, then the next highest scoring player, who was picked by a contestant, wins.

1 pt per Base

1 pt per RBI

1 pt per RS

1 pt per SB

1 pt per BB

(-1 pt per out in official AB, E, K, or CS, in case of tie only)

A specific player can only be taken twice in one week. Picking a player for a 3rd time is the same as making no pick.

Picks must be in by the first pitch of the game, no exceptions.

What is YNOT???

Here's a quote of DonkeyKongerko explaining it:

For the uninitiated, the game is simple. Each series the Sox play, you are given 10 questions worth a total of 30 points plus a tiebreaker question. Depending on how many correct answers you give, you will be rewarded with wins or punished with losses on your record.

For example, in a 3 game series, the winner will go 3-0 and the loser 0-3. Everyone else will go 2-1 or 1-2 depending on how well you do. Standings accumulate over the course of a season and are sorted by win/loss differential with total points being the tiebreaker.

I'm *still* trying to work on getting a database put together.

But this is not that easy.

Just another thing I'm great at.

wow im really going to get into this soxtalk action here.

So your saying all i have to do is basically post a name of a pick to click.. and im set for the game?

If so -- the jobs of the moderators/admins here at soxtalk are absolotly amazing. it must be v. hard to organise things like this.

thx soxtalk.

FYI, we are in the last stages of getting a couple more prizes for the contests this year... Stay tuned.

sweet, great news and thanks!

Sweet actual real prizes. I was glad with bragging rights alone.
