This is why I am actually knowledgeable when it comes to baseball and the minors <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who was it that laughed at you? Whoever it was should know better, the White Sox have had Sweeney playing a few times in CF the last two spring trainings. He was in LF too. Sox brass thinks he's very close to contributing and they want him comfortable at all three positions. Malone's situation tells me they want to give him lots of innings and consistency.
April 7, 200620 yr Yeah, Gage, there's plenty of other reasons to laugh at you. Plus, you didn't seem to want to believe me when I said Corwin was starting.
April 7, 200620 yr Its a good move at least for now. I think they want to cover their bases just in case with Anderson and Pods having some question marks, at least for now.
April 7, 200620 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 07:27 AM) Its a good move at least for now. I think they want to cover their bases just in case with Anderson and Pods having some question marks, at least for now. Sweeney played CF at times in Winston-Salem after they promoted Brian Anderson that year. I saw him a few times and he was adequate. His speed isn't what you want out there but the instincts were pretty good and that arm is damn good.
