Objectively speaking, is this a good bet?

PREFACE: I will not be rooting against Crede or the White Sox in any way, shape or form for the rest of the season. I am a diehard fan and my team and player loyalties come way before any fantasy or betting interest.

That being said, I just couldn't pass this bet up.

I bet my friend that Crede would finish the season at .284 or lower average-wise

If he wins, I have to buy him a Crede jersey

If I win, he has to buy me a Blum jersey (or something equally ridiculous)

Putting aside what you HOPE will happen....good bet or bad bet?

I think he has a chance, but dont rip on Geoff Blum, do a Don Wakamatsu jersey.

I think it's a good bet for you. As good as Crede has been to this point, it's still May 18th. For the record, I hope you lose the bet. :)

Right now, you're basically betting that Crede's back won't stay healthy or that Crede will slump. It's not a terrible bet, but with the way he looks at the plate right now, I wouldn't make it.

Or that he'll simply return to his unimpressive career BA.

It's possible that Joe may have turned a corner in his career last Fall. Then again, maybe not. Either way, it's not a bad bet. If I had to choose, I'd probably make the bet.

I'm really just betting that for the next 300 abs, Crede will hit about .265.

Hmm, that is a good idea, I don't have a Hibby jersey

I wouldn't touch that bet, as I think .284 is right about where Crede's average will end up, somewhere within 10 points of that either way at the most. Too close to call.

I'd take the bet and I love Joe Crede.
