July 1, 200619 yr QUOTE(Walker2Baines @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 03:07 AM) Are you kidding? Wells and Rios as starters? After a terrible start Ichiro is second in the AL in batting and continues to play his great defense. Wells after his great start in April has slipped. I would also start Vlad since he's got nobody to protect him. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 03:21 AM) Vernon Well = .990 OPS | .315 BA | 20 HR | 62 RBI Alex Rios = .968 OPS | .330 BA | 15 HR | 53 RBI Vlad Guerrero = .817 OPS | .290 | 16 HR | 56 RBI Psssh.. suure Kalapse. Let a little something like stats and team success go over blind popularity.

Obviously, Vlad has more HR and RBI than Rios. He clearly deserves it more.
July 3, 200619 yr QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 1, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) You must be going blind. Obviously, Vlad has more HR and RBI than Rios. He clearly deserves it more. Did you guys realize that Vlad has nobody to protect him? Do the Angels even have another all star? Put Vlad in Toronto's lineup and he'd have monster numbers. Edited July 3, 200619 yr by Rowand44
July 3, 200619 yr How are the Tigers and the White Sox the best two teams in the American League, yet experts only say Dye should make the starting team. Ozzie should just play the best players at each position between only the Sox and Tigers. With both ours and their record against the NL, this shouldn't be a contest.
