Featured Replies

the winston salem warthogs won the carloina league southern division pennant tonight. congrats to all of them

Ditto........ It is good to see them get one. They have sucked bad the last few years.

Is Norm Martel down there? I think he is. Hes a friend and mentor of mine...

Yes he is. .241, 2 bombs and 13 RBIs...

Who are our real prospects down there?

Jeremy Reed, Daylan Holt, Ruddy Yan and Casey Rogowski. Brian Becker put up pretty good number but I dont know much about him...

congrats to the warthogs..... way to go.. its been a while since they have done that good......nice to see one of our teams pull it together and do something great...............kudos warthogs....... :headbang

Now we can plan on the sox having a good team in 3-4 years! Unless our GM trades the farm away again. AA and A ball seem to be winners.

They seem to have good managers to.

Brian Becker has been around, he has done will with us, we picked him up from the Independent Leagues, he will be 28 this season, so very old for High A ball.

Mike Christensen is another pick up we made, he is playing for Kannapolis and hitting well with lots of clutch hits, but he too was a released player from Angels/Twins orgs and is 27, just wanted to post that with Beckers stats so no one gets too excited over either.

Daylan Holt is not a prospect. Mike Spidale has slowed due to injuries, but could come back and make some noise. He's been doing well so far this year.

As far as pitchers.....

Kris Honel and Ryan Wing are definite prospects. Wyatt Allen and Byeong An, along with Kris McWhirter (who recently came up to Birmingham) are a rung below.

Stumm is down there and trying to have a healthy season. If he stays healthy, he could be as good as any of our prospects, I am told. I believe the quote was that he has some "serious s***".

Not sure where Ryan Meaux and Frank Francisco fit in. Both have solid numbers.

Why isnt Holt a prospect? He gettin old or something?

michael spidale is doing very well this year. he is hitting 298 and is leading the league in triples.

Holt has a knack for striking out and not walking, he looked horrible in AA to start season, hitting ok back at High A. He will never pan out like what some want, not sure why KW wanted him, thought we were going to concentrate on players with good OBP numbers.

It's good to see someone winning in the organization.
