August 21, 200619 yr The Chicago radio duo responsible for Disco Demolition and many radio memories in the 1980s, were back together again on Friday. Apparently Garry was at the Oak Street Bistro eating lunch and Steve was doing a remote there. Garry came over and did like 4 hours of radio with Steve. The two fell right back into the old routines and I was thrilled to hear them again together. The question is: Was it a one-tme thing or could the two be heading for a permanent reuinion?
August 21, 200619 yr That would be cool. There was some magic back in the late 70s early 80s. Man, I feel sooooo old writing that.
August 21, 200619 yr I was actually there. I got invited to a VIP party at the Oak Street Beachstro for the broadcast. I can actually be seen in some of TV shots/photos which was pretty awesome for me. It was pretty cool because it was obviously not a set-up or anything like that. Someone happened to spot Garry Meier down the street and Dahl, almost jokingly, said someone should invite him in. Moments before Meier actually got there, Dahl was blasting him(How could you turn down 1.5 million dollars?) They seemed to get along fine though. Anyway, it was a lot of fun to watch it live.

August 22, 200619 yr QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 07:34 AM) No denying they changed radio in this country, whether one wants to admit it or not. They were part of that wave, no doubt. There were guys in almost every major city that were all pushing boundaries on FM. Most faded away without talent to sustain them beyond the initial shows. Others took it bigger, (Stern for example) either by continuing to push boundaries, or savvy marketing. I've enjoyed Dahl because he actually has grown up. He's only a few years older than myself and the parallels are fun.
August 22, 200619 yr Dahl is really not very interesting anymore. Whenver I turned on his show I heard dead air. He was more interesting on coke and alcohol. He should fall off the wagon.
