August 27, 200619 yr Doesnt BA or something do an updated list at around the mid-season point of the year? I remember seeing the one at the begining of the season but not seeing one since than. Did they make an updated list and if so can someone either post it or give a link.

August 29, 200619 yr I would love for someone to explain to me how Marte is ranked 12th and Fields is ranked 34th. I am not the biggest Fields fan but it seems to me that he has clearly outperformed this kid and is Major League ready where Marte is not. I also don't see any upside that MARTE has that FIELDS doesn't have. Anybody ?

I really believe, based on past history with call ups, and Josh's minor league splits, that he is going to have a really hard time adjusting to MLB pitching. The kid strikes out a ton in Charlotte, and it is only going to get worse up here. I think he will be another one who take a year or two to learn to be a major league hitter.
September 1, 200619 yr QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Aug 29, 2006 -> 11:15 AM) I would love for someone to explain to me how Marte is ranked 12th and Fields is ranked 34th. I am not the biggest Fields fan but it seems to me that he has clearly outperformed this kid and is Major League ready where Marte is not. I also don't see any upside that MARTE has that FIELDS doesn't have. Anybody ? I am a big Fields fan. The reason Josh has been ranked lower is his composite numbers on strikeouts don't look too good and he has not been that great in the field. However, he HAS IMPROVED...and quite a bit. The rankings don't take into account this year alone...I think if you ignored Fields' erratic defense at Birmingham and concentrate on his improved play at Charlotte to go along with his almost 30 steals and tremendous power he is a Top 15 prospect, no worse. I don't expect Fields to strike out only 35 times a season, but that right now is his only weakness...
