September 7, 200619 yr I was so happy to see Hermanson come out of the bullpen and work a perfect inning....Good For him and us
September 7, 200619 yr Yeah that sinker in the 9th to end it was sick too. He had been doing pretty well in Charlotte for a rather long period of time. I'm slightly surprised they didn't want to give him a shot earlier with the current bullpen woes.
September 7, 200619 yr This was a perfect no pressure situation to get him some work. Let's hope he starts contributing on a regular basis.

September 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(rangercal @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 11:15 AM) aside from the first guy you face in over a year is big papi Which makes it even more perfect. WTF happens if Papi hits a homer? Boston's only down by 6 then? Put him in a game where he'll face good hitters with no real consequences at all. Ozzie managed the bullpen well...that's like the 3rd time this year.
September 7, 200619 yr I love Hermy; it's good to see him back up with the club, even if it's just for a brief amount of time.
September 7, 200619 yr Could this be a Kirk Gibson emotional boost to help the club? Could this be a Kirk Gibson emotional boost to help the club?
September 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(danman31 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) Yeah that sinker in the 9th to end it was sick too. He had been doing pretty well in Charlotte for a rather long period of time. This way either Hermy or a guy like Riske can go to the playoffs if we make it.
September 7, 200619 yr Hermanson still can't pitch 2 days in a row from what I heard. I must say he looked a lot better than I thought he would last night. Of course it was garbage time. I can't see him being on the playoff roster, if the Sox are fortunate enough to require one, if he can only pitch 1 inning and need a day off. It really could put you in a bind. I've stated it many times before, my hat's off to him. Most would have just had their paychecks forwarded to their home. He stuck it out, and deserves any good that comes his way. I just don't really think it would be too wise to have to rely on him at this point.
September 7, 200619 yr QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 05:03 PM) I love Hermy; it's good to see him back up with the club, even if it's just for a brief amount of time. If Hermy does well in Sept, I could see him seeing a roster spot if the sox are playing in Oct. Riske hasn't thrown meaningful innings in a while.
September 7, 200619 yr Hermanson helped Ozzie out last year, there is no way Ozzie leaves out one of his kids.
September 7, 200619 yr I have so much respect for Hermy. That guy did a lot for our team last season. Starting with getting us out of jams early in the season with Shingo and throwing 20 something innings of scoreless ball, taking over as a closer and doing a great job, then preparing Jenks for the job. This year sticking it out and trying all season long. Much respect to Hermy and I hope he continues to recover. I will give him a standing ovation when he comes in at home if I'm at the game. Hermy
September 8, 200619 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 06:42 AM) It is incredible that Hermanson is back pitching again. I am in shock.
