5. Karma comes back to Freddy Garica as he overcame the lack of run support by the Sox and outdueled Anthony Reyes. Sox win 1-0 on "unclutch" Jim Thome's 7th inning homer. The only Sox hit. 8 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 2 K's, 14 GB outs.

 

6. Twenty-four hours after Mark Buehrle faced the minimum 27 batters in a two-hitter, Garcia shut down on of baseball's best-hitting lineups over the past two weeks. Freddy Garcia's strong shutout seven innings help the Sox defeat C.C "Needsa" Sabathia (yes, we've actually beaten him before.) The highlight of the game was one of Ozzie's first of many screwups when he came out to bring in lefty Damaso Marte to face left-hander Travis Hafner. First base umpire Joe West thought Guillen was signaling with his right hand, and West walked to the bullpen to escort right-hander Cliff Politte to the mound instead.

Colorado, Cardinals, Twins, and today are all amazing

If I could be guaranteed that Garcia's fastball will be back after resting in the offseason, I'd have no problem bringing him back.

 

As it stands, he'll probably be gone, and we'll have to deal with it. I'll miss him, because even though he's let me down real bad this year, he's still Freddy Garcia, and Freddy Garcia is a good pitcher who can be great.

The World Series game, by far.

I was actually at the 1 hit loser in Minny. That was depressing. Everyone at the time was saying the Sox were in the middle of a huge choke.

gee... maybe the world series clincher?

I voted too fast as I picked today.

 

However, today was pretty much a must win and even if we lost Game #4, we still would have had 3 more chances to clinch. (Ok, that is a weak arguement)

The most important game was the WS clincher but his best start I think was either today or that Colorado game. I know that 3 run HR takes away from it but he was just amazing after that.

It looks like all of our starters have FINALLY fixed their kinks. NOW if only the bullpen can get into shape. McDougal's injury worries me since him and Thorton have been the only true consistent relievers as of late. I'm not as worried about Jenks as most of you are. He's a 1 inning pitcher and he has 40 saves. Im worried about McCarthy, Cotts and Riske however they just have been brutal!

Im thinking 8 shutout innings in the world series clinching game on the road is quite an accomplishment. He got out of some HUGE pressure situations in that game too.

 

On a side note, why isn't the division clinching game from last year on the list? He pitched great that game.

Because Freddy isn't a big game pitcher

 

I tried to get some 2004 moments in there as well just as a refresher.
