You could make a case though.

 

I think his 2005 season was much better. This year he made a lot more flashy plays, but last year he was just so consistent. Rarely threw the ball away, which he seemed to do alot more in 06. 2005 Uribe and Crede should have won a GG. No doubt about it.

 

Oh, and where's the love for Paul Konerko? Probably the most underrated defensive 1B in baseball. Sure, he doesn't have the range, but he plays 1st. And how many times have we seen him pick one out of the dirt in crucial situations?

 

Cases could also be made for Garland and Buehrle, but the mediots would actually have to watch BASEBALL (not Baseball Tonight) to realize these things.

 

(Oh, I'm not asking for an all White Sox GG team, I'm just saying cases could be made. That is all. )

The GG, like the Heisman and most other media-voted awards, is absolute garbage. There is no correlation between winning it and being what the winner was intended to be.

 

It's voted on by managers and coaches.

 

For Crede to win, he has to unseat the incumbent and have a clear cut edge. Crede committed 10 errors, Chavez 5.

Chavez committed 5 errors all season long, he deserved it...Grudz had an awesome season he deserved...Boston led the AL in Fielding % and no Red Sox won a GG

Well, they're not Yankees and their red socks got thrown in the bleach load, so no.

Crede didn't necessarily deserve the gold glove, but he deserved it more than Chavez did, that's for sure. If I had it my way, Crede/Inge/Lowell would have won it at 3B, and anyothershortstopintheAL would have won it instead of Jeter.
