November 24, 200619 yr What does everyone think about the NFL Network showing live games? I get it at home but not at school, so I won't even be able to see every game. I personally think it's stupid to show games on a channel most people don't even get. I only saw a small part of the broadcast tonight, what was it like?
November 24, 200619 yr I was really disapinted last night. I turned on the NFL HD channel and it was blacked out with no audio and the regualr HFL Network channel was airing some other programming. VERY disappointing. We just watched Spiderman 2 on FOX instead. lol
November 24, 200619 yr From where I was watching, the NFL HD channel showed the game, but in NON-HD format. The picture was terrible. Plus their announcing crews were rusty and they were having some hiccups with the production. Maybe it will get better. Why on earth would you create a new HD channel, and run your first live game in non-HD format?
November 24, 200619 yr Gumble=bad. Multiple times he was like, "Larry Johnson just across the 20, maybe got to the 21." And the ball would be spotted on the 25. I think I may have him typecast as a news reporter cuz his voice was also bothering me for no reason. Edited November 24, 200619 yr by Brian

Very monotone, seemed like Gumble 2 Gumble actually came to life
November 24, 200619 yr I wasn't paying enough attention to the announcing apparently, I was too confused as to why Denver never blitzes.
November 24, 200619 yr To answer the question in the first post, I have NFL Network so it is fine. But I know Time Warner in Wisconsin does not and if the Packers are on NFL Network, cheeseheads won't be happy. But NFL games are for Sunday and 1 on Monday night, IMO. I am traditional. What's next? Tuesday Night Football? Money talks though.

I guess Colorado Springs couldn't watch the Broncos yesterday.

I guess Colorado Springs couldn't watch the Broncos yesterday. For the immediate local area for the teams, they may put them on broadcast TV. I think when the Bears are on ESPN, ABC runs the feed so people without cable can see it. In fact, I think during commercials for the Chiefs v. Broncos game, there was some print at the bottom of the screen stating this would happen.

November 28, 200619 yr Bryant Gumbel, the most boring commentator of all time unless he's being racist against the Olympics, does the games. Thus I will not be able to watch unless the Bears or LaDanian Tomlinson is playing in the game.
November 28, 200619 yr I like it. It gives you something to watch on a thurday night. Also, for the people that dont have the NFL network if it were their hometeam it more then likely would be aired anyway.

Only the local TV market the team plays in can put the game on, so that means people in Milwaukee would miss the Packer games, people in the Rockford market would miss the Bears game, people in northern Indiana would miss the Colts games, and so on.
December 2, 200619 yr I like them. Its another day of the week to watch the NFL and I have the channel. The matchups all seem to be ok too.
December 2, 200619 yr I don't have the NFL Network, and I hate it simply because the Insight Bowl -- a college football game -- is on it, and so just to watch my team, I have to go to a sports bar.
