December 19, 200619 yr books. not much of a reader it's just that they're usually that much more expensive...
December 19, 200619 yr I'm not really sure how to answer this question. At first I thought it was which do you have more of? That's fairly easy. Books first, movies a close second, music a distant third and magazines an even more distant last. The thing is, I'd say a good 80% of my books came used. It's amazing how many people sell perfectly good books for 50 cents to a dollar at garage sales. I've got a ton of books that I read when I was growing up. Mostly Charlie Brown/Peanuts, "Ramona" books by Beverly Cleary, "Soup" books by Robert Newton Peck. Now my shelves are filled with mostly Stephen King books. I've only been buying DVDs since about 2000. I'd say about half of them I got new. Many of them I got from a used DVD store or even the $5 grab bin at Wal-Mart. I've been buying CDs since about 1992 but I don't have very many. Probably less than 150. I don't listen to music all that much. I had a subscription to a magazine through EB games because it gave me a discount on a game I was buying. I think it lasted 2 years and then I never renewed it. I used to have a subscription to Nintendo Power back when that was the only system around.
December 19, 200619 yr Music by far, but I have also recieved a ton of that for free...through many ways. Movies probably next, with books right behind that. Inbetween music and movies though, even though it isn't "media", I have spent the most money collecting toys.
December 19, 200619 yr Author I purposely mentioned the monetary investment because people are more likely to acquire free music than free DVDs or books.
December 19, 200619 yr I would say video games because I'm typically a dumbass and pay $50 for them when they first come out instead of getting the same game 2 months later for $20. DVD's are probably 2nd, I don't buy man but they're usually of the box set variety. If we are counting school-related books that would probably be 2nd for me, but I personally don't since I was basically forced into those purchases... Edited December 19, 200619 yr by ZoomSlowik
December 19, 200619 yr QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 01:37 PM) I purposely mentioned the monetary investment because people are more likely to acquire free music than free DVDs or books. That's funny because I'm the exact opposite. I've gotten tons of books over the years as gifts or I'll pick them up for a buck or two myself. Very rarely do I buy one brand-new. I haven't gotten much free music although I don't have much anyway. I guess my final answer would be movies. I've got a bunch of DVD box sets. Most of them are $20 or more per set and it's rare to find them used.
