Chicago White Sox

Signed RHP Ryan Bukvich

Signed SS C.J. Lang

Signed OF Sean Smith

Traded RHP Freddy Garcia to Phillies for LHP Gio Gonzalez and RHP Gavin Floyd

Rule 5 losses: RHP Paul Moviel (Devil Rays, Double-A); and LHP Jay Marshall (Athletics, Major League; traded with cash to Devil Rays for OF Ryan Goleski)

I'd heard of Bukvich before, and Smith as well, so there.

Bukvich pitched in quite a few games out of the Royals pen a few years ago, IIRC. He also has local roots (Naperville) and has the last name closest to looking like mine in baseball, so hooray. I don't know who the hell Sean Smith is though.

Bukvich is 28 and from Naperville. He is a AAA righty reliever. Had some time with the Royals 02-04 and the Rangers in 05. His AAA career ERA is 4.53, MLB career ERA is 6.94. Control issues (to say the least) but has more innings pitched than hits against in the bigs.

Lang is a rookie? I couldn't find much without actually trying, but he played for UNLV in 2005 and an independent team in 06.

Smith was in the system last year.

Bukvich used to be quite the closer in one of the old MVP baseball games.
