He said it involved three big names, and it was "close". Anyone have any ideas?

Link?

interesting

so we can move this to another forum, since we are not mentioned.

Doesn't he have a baseball pitch to pretend to teach?

Are we assuming that amassing these pitching prospects will result in KW parlaying them into a major acquisition?

We really do not have any BIG name that we can give up, so I doubt we are involved. I am assuming we are not giving up Buerhle which is how I see it now that we traded BMac

Hypothetically, if it were A-Rod - what would YOU be willing to give up if you were the GM?

Would you give up Crede, Danks, and a mid-level prospect?

whitesox aren't even mentioned

In a second. The Yanks would laugh at such an offer.

I saw no mention of the Sox. Interesting, and I appreciate the information, but the Sox are not specifically mentioned. Three teams and BIG names is intentionally vague. No telling with KW. He has money and a revitalized farm system.

Crede is a big name....well bigger.

Get something KW, we have a plethora of young talent now.

Crede is a big name. The Sox could be the team suppling little names and acquiring a big name. KW thinks big and a nice way to remind the fans that the plan still is to win the World Series in 2007 would be to add salary to bring in a star if the deal was right.

The way I read it was that there were 3 BIG names involved and hence, I am assuming, we are not involved. I am not sure I call Crede big. Maybe it is a ARod, Manny and Tejada 3 way swap (JUST KIDDING).

I'll bet this winds up being nothing.

This could be the D-Backs getting Johnson back... there's a thread about that potential already, but ESPN.com's story hint that a 3rd team could be involved

Brandon Webb to Sox, i only wish.

Were going to get Daniel Cabera, Miguel Tajada, and Corry Paterson for Garland and prospects... just kidding... or am i?

how about bedard and tejada for boone logan and uribe

I love how Carroll just throws that out there but doesn't give any information.

Maybe he's just throwing crap at a wall ?
