fifth starter competition

Featured Replies

Here's my fifth starter rankings to begin the spring, in terms of chances to win the spot:

1. Floyd

2. Haeger

3. Broadway

4. Danks

5. Sisco

6. Gio

I think that it should and may be Haeger. Having a knuckleballer in front of all that bullpen heat seems to make a lot of sense to me.

I agree with the "chances to win it" order. However, I think they'll give it to Floyd because that's the plan and then when he proves incapable then Haeger finishes the season there with decent success.

I don't think that Danks is as close as some people think. I think Sisco could be awesome in the pen and I'd like to see him stay there. And, Gio probably won't be much help in the rotation before 2009.

actually having a huge competition for 5th starter is great for us and not having one set guy. this means that every pitch counts for these pitchers and that nothing is sacred. I like it and believe it will help us
