FutureSox.com 2007 Top 25: Honorable Mention and Names to Watch

Featured Replies

By FutureSox Staff

As FutureSox.com prepares to release the 2007 edition of their Top 25 prospects list, we have decided to release a short list of names who didn't quite make the cut. When making our list, we take into account talent, production, as well as the chance of any particular prospect to make the majors. We have included only stats in this release, but you can expect at-length descriptions of all twenty-five top prospects in future releases.

Just out of curiosity, how far off the list was Shelby?

I don't care about "honorable mentions" aka, the losers. I want to see the top guys! :bang

He would have been one of the last guys on the list. We considered him but opted to pass mainly because we feel he did little to truly distinguish himself in his debut.

I do expect Shelby on next years list though as he has the tools to be one of the 25 best prospects in our system. Of course speaking of tools, Collaro has as much power as anyone in the Sox system (with the possible exception of Vernon Carter) and didn't even make the top 25 (mainly because he still has a lot of holes in his swing).

And your man crush on him has subsided a bit. :P

I'm a little disappointed that Lucy isn't in the Top 25, but at least he made the next tier. Same with Texeira - thought he'd be there too. Good work putting together the list though, and I look forward to hearing more about all these guys.

Whatever happened to this list, not 2 be demanding because you guys are doing this on your free time.... but you put out 25-21 or whatevr and nothing since.

We actually made a change to the rankings and I haven't gotten a couple of the new writeups done.
