Thome activated, Sweeney sent down

Now that we've sent Sweeney down, would it be too much to ask of Mack to step up?

Mack needs to produce.

If he does what he has over his career, we'll be happy with him, and also it would be nice if others, specifically Konerko, would begin hitting as well.

Thome is up and that's good for this team. Sweenye went down and that's OK because you know that he will most likely be up for good later this year or to start 2008. Nobody seemed to complain a whole lot last year about Ozuna and Mack was a good acquisition. Pods is the LF'er on this team for 07 and will be again when back from the DL. But, I don't expect him here in 08.

Funny that Pods is the LF'er on the '07 team when he's not even playing... and won't be until after the break. But we have limited options in that area and I agree with Sweeney getting more playing time in AAA and hopefully working on his weak spots. Eventually we'll see him in a White Sox uniform again later this year or next.

If Anderson was considered ready, why not Sweeney?

Anderson isn't ready since he is in AAA currently. It took a year + to fully see it, even though Sox Talk saw it in 2 months of last season.

For now, it's just going to be a platoon, and let's just hope one of those guys can get going some. If we're still talking about no production from our LF spot in a month or so, I'd consider giving one of the minor leaguers - Sweeney or Anderson - a chance to regrab a starting job in LF.

There's a lot of SoxTalk that took a year and a month to see it.

I still think Anderson is the better CF option over Erstad most days of the week. Ok maybe only 4 out of 7 but still.

Sweeney has some adjustments to make still. Any ChiSox fan can see that at this point, even the most pro-Sweeney ones out there. Luckily we all know he WILL be back up here, and he has a pretty damn good chance of becoming a solid MLB caliber player for us in LF.
