Plus the kid would have to be about 2 feet tall for the quoted size of the pig to work out against the size of the kid in that shot.

Check out snopes.com and it has a story about a 3rd pig (besides this one and hogzilla) that was killed with a pistol. That one weighed in at over 1100 lbs.

 

They have a story about hogzilla and this one as well. Something interesting that I saw within the story:

 

Darrell Anderson, CEO of the Layfayette, Ind. -based National Swine Registry, said farm-raised hogs grow as large as 1,300 pounds and measure as long as 7 feet along the backbone from head to tail.

 

So obviously it's not uncommon to find a hog this size.
