Replacements for Ozuna and Sisco...

Oh goodie!!!! A 27 year old pitcher in AA with an ERA of 3.60 and a WHIP around 1.5. I wonder if his slider will be compared to the great curveball of Arnie Munoz?

Cool. Day will dominate. Plus, he will add some color to the pen :)

Oh, and Gonzalez should not be called up. We already have Mack and Cintron. We don't need another below average reserve infielder. I say it should be Sweeney, but Owens would be a good choice as well, since he does have speed.

Every scouting report I've read rates Day's slider at a 60 MINIMUM, which is above major league average, and a 70 usually, which is well above the major league average. We're talking about a guy whose slider is a tick below Felix Hernandez' for Christ's sake. Munoz always had a big rolling curveball which is not even close to the same as Day's slider.

Edit: Looking at Day's splits, he's been doing very well after having a period of really rough outings in late April. For May, we're looking at:

would love to hear their thoughts on Day.

It is not speculation. Day and Gonzalez were called up.

I called it 1:45 am. He did ok in spring training and Ozzie has his favorites.

are there any replacements for Guillen out there who can motivate players into battling for wins and working through struggles. all the talk about the pen, lack of speed injuries, etc doesn't cover up for that "dead look" of the players. MN came back from a 12gm deficit last year to win the division because RG WOULDN"T ALLOW them to stay down. OG has no sense of being able to demand and get the most of his players. Can an entire pen of 6-8 guys go from unhittable to horrible without SOME blame on the coach?

FWIW, somebody with a grand total of two posts at WSI posted that he has "reliable" information that Day has been called up. :huh

Sounds pretty reliable to me :)
