greg775
What that game was, was some mghty bad baseball by the White Sox. So which team is worse; Chicago or KC? Hard to believe we're as bad as the Royals who truly are awful. Nice job giving up 3 in the ninth White Sox, just to make sure a great comeback would not be possible. Horrid team. You must be proud Oz and KW.
fathom
In Jose's last 11 regular season starts in 2005, he gave up 18 earned runs. In his last 2 games, he's given up 19 earned runs.
briguy27
Jose for a great game pitched Boone for pitching great Tadahito for a great throw home in the 9th 3-4-5 for a great 9th inning
JDsDirtySox
In the Count's last five starts, he's given up 49 hits and 36 earned runs in 29 1/3 innings. Good Golly thats bad.

whitesoxfan101
At least JD continued to up his trade value, Bukvich looked good, and Fields continues to impress. But I can't believe how bad this team is, I think we're going to end up in 5th.
RME JICO
It really sucks to lose games when your offense scores 9. The Sox have lost 5 games since the ASB when they have scored 5 or more. That is sorry. Hopefully this is Conteras' last start in a White Sox uniform. His next start would be July 31st. At this point I would almost give him up for anything just to get rid of his salary for next year.
briguy27
Your post need more green. You know, going back and reading the archives from 2005 almost brought me to tears. It really makes you wonder how that group of guys can go from a title to this. I really wish I was a member then, so I could have my name in those threads. From everyone posting "OMG" to "BEST DAY OF MY LIFE", it was amazing ^^Sorry, I had to get it out
BearSox
think anyone would be interested in Bukvich? Hopefully we can rid ourselves of Jose somehow. On a different forum a brave fan said he'd trade Jo-Jo Reyes and a B prospect for Contreras, and this wasn't some dummy fan either. But then again, that was before tonight's outing. Maybe the Sox can convince a team that Contreras would be a decent reliever, since most playoff teams will only have a 4 man rotation - not many will need another 5th starter. He could be an semi-effective middle/long reliever if all he had to pitch was 1-3 innings.

He could be an semi-effective middle/long reliever if all he had to pitch was 1-3 innings. It doesn't matter, we're going to get stuck with a huge portion of that contract then. I really wish I knew the motivation for leaving him out to die on the mound in 3 of his recent starts. The Tribune articles tonight make it sound like any thoughts of trading him are done with. If true, well done KW and Ozzie. Your stellar season continues.
BearSox
I hope Omar and the Mets will have interest in Count... maybe they think reuniting him with El Duque will do something for him. I doubt it.
greg775
We can't trot Count out there for another start. If we don't trade/release him, send his ass down. He's gonna make people rich in Vegas; bet the over when he pitches baby. It's like the Royals released Elarton tonight. He can't pitch anymore; neither can Count. That said ... thanks for the memories.
BearSox
if we can't move Count then he will either be shut down for the rest of the season with some mysterious injury or moved to the pen.
LVSoxFan
It was amazing being there last night and watching the team go up more than once and... Grandpa just would give it right back to them. Awful. He is a shell of 2005.
Dick Allen
KW should trade Bukvich if anyone is desperate enough to give up any value. He has been pretty good lately, but history shows its more than likely short-lived.
Gregory Pratt
Nobody is going to trade for Bukvich.
elrockinMT
Jose: He went downhill and kept rolling The bullpen must have worked at a gas station becasue they sure like to add fuel to a fire Every game the pen comes in to pitch makes me cringe just knowing that we are ready to blow up at any time. Hopefully we can get some help for next season.
