March 14, 200818 yr w00t! Great great second half for Marquette. The two Hillcrest kids were phenomenal, Barro was great and James did what he needed to do. As far as I'm concerned, Marquette has done what they've needed to do -- anything else (in this tourney) is gravy. This win should solidify Marquette as a #5 or 6 in the tourney. That's pretty reasonable, right?
March 14, 200818 yr Sloppy game for ND, hats off to Marquette's D. I knew I was right to be afraid of McNeil. The kid is good. I guess the only frustrating thing is how well Marquette shoots against us. I think today's game makes them an above 50% 3pt shooting team against us this year. That's ridiculous, and may say something about NDs perimeter def (I hope it just means ND ran into a buzzsaw, nothing more). Hot Marquette shooting + early foul trouble for Luke = End of Game. It's really that simple. Can't say this isn't disappointing; ND always does poorly in the BET and it sucks. Pitt winning the game before makes this especially disappointing because ND matches up well w/Pitt. Another Hibbert/Harnagody show down would have been cool. ND should be a 4 seed now, but will likely get jobbed and get a 5 or 6, get shipped off somewhere crazy and have to play some upstart mid-major (cough Davidson cough). /endtinfoilhatconspiracytheory Should be a GTown/Marq rematch in the final on Sat.

March 14, 200818 yr Notre Dame actually got some legit point guard play from Jackson tonight (9 times, 2 turnovers)....but it's just hard to win when you don't even care on defense.
March 14, 200818 yr f***ing UCONN...they're so annoying. I was planning on heading into Manhattan tonight to check out the semis at the Garden but now that theyre gone i think im gonna pass. G'Town got lucky to win that game...no way do they make 17 threes against WV, especially at that rate (of course its unrealistic to think Hibbert will go scoreless again). It'll be interesting to see if Joe Alexander can continue his hot hand tonight. Should be a good one.
March 14, 200818 yr That dunk is just NASTY, Stanley Robinson is one of the best athletes in the country and Alexander just made him his b**** right there. I've always enjoyed watching Alexander's game as he has surefire NBA ability, but he's really stepping up the last month, and not surprisingly with that in mind, so is West Virginia.
March 15, 200818 yr Absolutely putrid reffing in the Marquette/Pitt game -- f***ing terrible. f*** you, Tim Higgins. I'm very happy with Marquette's showing in the tourney and proud as hell tonight. I'm fairly certain they've earned themselves a five seed (at worst a six).

The reffing in the WVU-UCONN game was awful the other night too...it was a foul to breathe on someone in the second half...the reffing in general in this tournament has left a lot to be desired
March 16, 200818 yr Thanks to a 28-12 foul edge (less fouls that is) and 44-9 edge in free throw attempts, Pitt wins the big east title by 9 over Georgetown. The Panthers finished a stellar 22-44 from the line after starting 8-23, lol.
