April 9, 200818 yr Here's what I'd like to do: I'd like to do a top 20 list of the funniest movies in the last 50 years. PM me a list of your 20 favorite/funniest comedy movies since 1958 numbered 1-20 and I'll do a compilation. Ideally, I'd like at minimum 20 lists if possible. Deadline will be April 21, the next Sox day off. Hope this works out as well as I think that it will.
April 9, 200818 yr Dr. Strangelove Blazing Saddles Airplane Serial Animal House RV It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World The Graduate Annie Hall I'll think of a few more. I assume no comedy DVD, concert appearances, etc. are permitted?

April 9, 200818 yr Why only the past 50 years? Is it because we know nothing touches the brilliance of the Marx Bros.?
April 9, 200818 yr QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 09:21 AM) Why only the past 50 years? Is it because we know nothing touches the brilliance of the Marx Bros.? Ha!! When I sent knight my list I told him that Duck Soup and Night at the Opera were only excluded because of the 1958 cutoff. :cheers
April 9, 200818 yr QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 08:21 AM) Why only the past 50 years? Is it because we know nothing touches the brilliance of the Marx Bros.? You're right. I think it would be fun to hear BigEdWalsh and FlaSoxxJim tell us about going to see double features for a nickle and how orchestras were way better then talkies

The Marx brothers were a staple of my childhood! Unfortunately, none of my students laugh when I make any jokes from there. Uncultured buffoons! Sanity Clause? Everyone knows there's no Sanity Clause!
April 9, 200818 yr For the young guys on the site, add Marx Brothers movies to the list of ways to Soxy's heart

You've automatically forfitted your entire list due to the inclusion of RV. How about Office Space. Edited April 9, 200818 yr by Y2HH

April 9, 200818 yr QUOTE (Kid Gleason @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 11:34 AM) HA!!! Do you know about my insane love of Lillian??? Yes I do. And curiously enough, I now have "Pictures pf Lilly" playing in my head.
April 9, 200818 yr Cool, so it wasn't some insane coincidence, but rather a bit more of a joke at my expense. WHEW!

More something I just tossed out there to see if you'd catch it, after seeing you seconding w3hat I had PM'd knight about having to exclude Marx Brother films. Though for some reason you never seem to get picked on as one of the old guys, and that's starting to torque me off a bit. Edited April 9, 200818 yr by FlaSoxxJim

April 10, 200818 yr Just my opinion, but I think you should limit it down to Top 10. It's difficult, for me atleast, to think about my Top 20 comedies without doing research and actually putting effort into it. Sure, the lists will be more extensive; but far fewer will casually browse this thread and add their input.
April 10, 200818 yr QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 03:12 PM) Two lists! Tex, are you sending me yours? I doubt it. Tex always seems rather listless.
