Fick was on tv showing him being escorted out, yelling at the crowd, when all of a sudden a full beer hit him in the face. It was awesome, and the best $4.50 or whatever that guy probably ever spent a beer on in his life.

 

 

We were at that game, and on the replays you can see our beers heading towards Fick. None of ours was the one that hit him, but it was a crazy, crazy game. Fick just stopped and was literally asking for the beers to be thrown at him. The interviews afterwards were hilarious...I remember them interviewing Parque and him grinning and saying "it just slipped" while trying not to laugh.

6. White Sox vs. Tigers (April 22, 2000)

Sixteen players, coaches and managers suspended. Nine others fined. It was, MLB said, "the biggest mass suspension ever."

 

 

That was the end result of two brawls that erupted at Comiskey Park, one in the seventh inning, the other in the ninth. In the sixth, the Tigers Jeff Weaver hit Carlos Lee with a pitch. In retaliation, Chicago's starter, Jim Parque, plunked Detroit's Dean Palmer in the top of the seventh. Palmer charged the mound, throwing his helmet at Parque before the real action started.

 

 

"This wasn't just a shoving match," wrote Tom Gage in the Detroit News. "This was a nasty fight in which heavy punches were thrown and players were bloodied. White Sox reliever Keith Foulke had a facial cut that required five stitches."

 

 

In the ninth, a couple more hit batsmen inspired another round of wrasslin', kicking and fisticuffs. When it was all over, the umps had ejected 11.

 

 

Chris Osgood of the Red Wings was impressed. "It was a pretty vicious fight for a baseball game," he said. "But they stood up for themselves pretty good. It's a good way to build camaraderie."

The Sox/Tigers brawl in '00 w/o a doubt

 

I still believe that brawl was the catalyst that lead the Sox to come together and win the Central that season

Maggs throwing karate kicks was the highlight of those two brawls. I was at that game. What a great time.

I've heard about Maggs and his karate a bunch of times, but I didn't see it! Damn it!

I'm a little biased b/c I was at the Sox/Cubs brawl. Let me tell you being in the stands was just insane during that game, I've never experienced anything else like it.

I remember reading something like back in the 20's or 30's, the Sox had a brawl with the umpire, and the Umpire pretty much took on the whole team... that would have been something fun to watch.

White Sox-Tigers Brawl 2000 was far andaway this most ridiculous one I have evr seen the Sox in. I remember thats when my hatred for Robert Fick began to grow.

My dad and i were at the sox tigers brawl in 2000, it was amazing, we were in the left field bleachers, it was a great saturday to see a game! I still carry the ticket stub in my wallet!

 

I was also at the Sox Cubs brawl, i saw A.J. coming home and knew he was meat unless he did something to barrett, that was fun as hell!

 

I wish ventura took a better approach at Ryan, but instead, he got noogies! I never saw the Mark Whiten one, i do remember the A's one when Steinbach was beaned, i think Rickey Henderson squared off against Scott Fletcher, i think scooter would have taken him out!
