big jim ties Mays for 18th all-time career walks (1464), congrats

meanwhile, PK erases the walk with a GIDP, damn.

That is not a DP if Thome and Konerko aren't running.

JD lines out to Markakis, inning over. 2-0 Sox heading to the bottom of the 3rd. 50 pitches through 3 for Guthrie.

Gavin's fastball seems much more crisp, especially thanks to the audio behind home plate.

I like that. For you guys that used to pitch...did ya ever have a catcher that for some reason his glove never popped. Whether it was the glove or how he caught it. I threw fairly hard...and it used to piss me off when I knew I was throwing hard and the glove didn't pop.

Jesus, Guthrie has 50 pitches already. :)

Oh ya...it was such a confidence boost when the mitt would pop a lot.

That was such a confidence booster when my catcher let the ball come to the web and smack the mitt. My backup catcher always moved his hand and caught it more towards the palm and it pissed me off.

That pitch was filthy

filthy curve....

lol gary thorne...."miguel tejada hit a HR in a losing effort as he celebrated 2 birthdays today"

Swisher makes a nice play on the liner to center. 2 dead.

How fitting that Carlos Lee and Miguel Tejada hit solo homers in a 10-2 game.

maybe more so than the breaking ball, that first pitch to that last hitter has me most excited about gavin...good two seamer with late life on the outside corner

9 up, 9 down for Floyd. Heading to the 4th, 2-0 Sox.

It's the style of mitt. I had one that was kind of dead sounding, no matter what was thrown. I never liked it, but I never had a pitcher complain. It seemed I would catch the ball higher in the webbing most of the time. I think I loved catching so much for the equipment, the jawing with the umpire and batter, and being able to see everyone.

Gavin is not a big fan of giving up base hits as of late. I likey.

Holy s***, has Gavin really matured this much? Insane.

quentin and guthrie were college teammates at stanford

quentin only 3 for his last 25 but hes made alot of hard outs

btw the yankees may be worse at throwing out runners right now than the white sox

And Gameday is dead again.. what a waste of internet.

im pretty impressed with guthrie...hes got a good arm and seems like he knows how to pitch

guthrie carving meatballs down the middle of the plate and has been for the whole game, and yet we can't get good wood on the ball, ugh

Credepopsitup. Inning over. Heading to the bottom of the 4th, 2-0 Sox. 68 pitches through 4 for Guthrie.
