Pitching Stat Question

Featured Replies

How many HRs has our pitching staff allowed??

Did we just go that entire roadtrip (2 @ BAL, 3 @ TB) allowing just 1 HR?

we've allowed 5 through 18 games.

the second fewest in the AL has given up 11

The Sox have hit 25 HR and allowed 5 the next best ratio in the AL is Texas with 19 hit and 12 allowed.

Another encouraging stat is BBs. The Sox have allowed the second fewest free passes in the AL with 57 (Min - 37) and have drawn the 4th most with 77 (Tor - 86 also OAK and DET are just ahead)

Well, that's the good news. The bad news is that only 4% of balls hit in the air are leaving the yard. That's unsustainable. It's been proven that about 10% of fly balls will leave the yard over a course of a season, give or take a few percentage points.

It's great that the Sox have gotten of to a great start in run prevention, but some regression is inevitable.

John Danks' and Vasquez's solid peripherals are certainly encouraging along this front.
