July 6, 200322 yr I agree Jason, Carlos needs to sit this one out. If both Rowand and Ev have strong games today, ..........
July 6, 200322 yr I actually think Carlos should be on the block for a relief pitcher or starter. Then have Daubach and Everett rotate in left. Everett plays ocassionally in center, but its mainly Harris and Rowand who I think can handle the job. Then let Daubbie/Everett/Konerko rotate at the DH position. If you get a starter for Carlos, move one guy from our rotation to the pen and then still use a prospect or two to land a damn good relief pitcher, imo. This team really could use one more reliever. Then again Wright could be that guy, as I think he will be able to throw quite a few pitches all in one inning and thats tough on hitters.
July 6, 200322 yr Whooo Groundrule double by Roberto Alomar to start the inning Do we bunt him over with Aaron?
July 6, 200322 yr Nice Job JM and Rowand Rowand has a perfect bunt and Alomar gets to 3rd. Come on Frank, drive him in.

July 6, 200322 yr Frank blasts one into centerfield, but right at Baldelli. Still, it was more then enough to knock Alomar in. Way to go Hurt, Arow and Alomar...thats textbook baseball. 1-0 SOX

I love his defense but he's always swinging for the fences. I can't stand that philosphy. Like Mario told me yesterday the coaching staff needs to stay on these guys. Maybe they are, and if so, then Carlos sure isn't listening.
July 6, 200322 yr Maggs rips a triple off the very top of the wall. He's stranded as Everett strikes out on a nice curveball. To the bottom of the 1st: 1-0 Sox
July 6, 200322 yr If Lee gets traded, even for prospects, both our defense and team speed get upgraded. Ev moves to left, which is his natural position now, either Rowand or Harris in center, our speed is back to where it was, etc. If we can't trade Lee, it might take some guts to leave him on the bench, but that is our best team, IMO.
July 6, 200322 yr Whoa! I didnt know the game started! I have to get my ass over to CBSSportline so I can watch the game... This was an early start

Uhmmm.....doesn't Lee lead the team in stolen bases?
July 6, 200322 yr Keping up on the game with MLB game day, but may switch to CBS sportsline. 3 ground ball outs by Buerhle in the 1st is a good sign. Maggs and Alomar hitting and Frank in the clutch. Good start
July 6, 200322 yr Lee isn't slow. Lee just swings for the fences too many times and in my opinion acquiring Ponson and Lightenberg would put the Sox over the top. You'd have 5 very good pitchers and Wright would move to the pen as Glover either goes to Bmore or gets shipped somewhere for a pinch hitter. Pen: Wright, Wunsch, Marte, Tom, Koch, Lightenberg, White Let Koch/Tom/Marte close with Lightenberg in the 7th and one of the guys that isn't closing in the eighth and you have a backup plan in case anything happens. Plus Wunsch and White can get it done and Wright is a long guy and can get settled in the pen. I'd say that would be a heck of a pen. Rotation Colon Buehrle Loaiza Ponson Garland
July 6, 200322 yr I have no interest in Ponson but that's just my opinion, Vazquez or Benson are who I'd like. So far it looks like the D-Rays are as bad as us in trying to close out a sweep.
July 6, 200322 yr Rowand with two-out single to drive in Sandy. Aaron has really been coming around lately. Why wasn't he in the line up yesterday?
July 6, 200322 yr We ain't ficking around today I see. I hope this momentum carries over to Detroit on Tuesday. No more taking these scrub teams for granted...
