July 7, 200322 yr Let's hope he starts hitting. He will probably be brought up in Sept. He will need winter ball after that. If he doesn't progress in 2004, he might be done.
July 7, 200322 yr He only had one HR tonight. I see Borchard settling in as a corner OF (if he gets his s*** straight). I just don't see him as a long term answer in CF. I also think he will require more patience than anyone outside the Sox org. wants to give him.
July 7, 200322 yr The Sox will be patient with Borchard and I still think he'll make it. Like I said before Richie is making adjustments and I have to think Joe will be able to figure things out. He's a smart kid and I really think he's pressing right now. I do think Joe may eventually drop being a switch hitter cause he has so much more pop from the left side of the plate or thats what I've noticed from watching him take bp a few times.
