Um, versus lefties over the past 3 years, Lofton has put up a dominant .246/.301/.290/.591 line. Jerry Owens is more useful against lefties than Lofton. Against Righties, Lofton put up a solid .321/.386/.436/.822

I meant righties. I don't know why I wrote lefties.

What would happen to Anderson if they signed Lofton?

We already have a 4th outfielder.

If they targeted a leadoff that can PH and PR they would wanna move either Uribe or Ozuna, no?

They would have to move Ozuna in that case. Uribe and Anderson are way too talented and versatile defensively.

Uribe and Anderson are way too talented

Never thought I would hear Uribe and "Way too Talented" in the same sentence

:lolhitting

I also don't understand why one of the bench players would have to go. I'd personally just send down Russell, but maybe that's just me.

Just say no to Lofton.

Go with what we have or look elsewhere.

Anderson really isn't a bad option if Swish continues to struggle.

Swish has cooled off again.

One for his last 12 after going 8 for 14 vs. Minn's s***ty pitchers.

which only equates to a .346 average over his past however many at bats, and that's not including the times he's walked

going into tonight's game, Swisher had an OPS of 1.072 in June. Only 11 games, but let's not suggest he's terrible again all of a sudden

Not terrible, but you have to get some hits on a consistent basis to help our lineup like we need him to help our lineup.

Thus far this season, he's made way way way too many outs.

No Lofton, bring up Cook!

He's actually making fewer outs than the average player on the Sox, though not by much.

Swisher's OBP - .337

Sox team OBP - .332

He's just not hitting for any power, which is the big thing the Sox need him to do.

Lofton doesn't thrill me much. Yet I can see why the sox would want a lefty bat who has speed opposite Anderson for late innings. Or when Swisher's at 1b. There should be better names than Lofton though available.

Isnt this what the entire team did?

GIve me BA over Loften any day. 10 years ago... different story,

Lofton equals speed, but I wouldn't dump Uribe for him. I think we may be carrying one too many pitchers though.

I'd dump Uribe for myself.

I wouldn't dump Uribe for anybody in the minors. If you get rid of Uribe and Cabrera goes down for a month, you are left with Danny Richar and Chris Getz at 2B with Alexei learning the nuances of playing SS at the major league level.

Uribe's a vital part of this team right now whether people want to admit it or not. He hits like a AAA player but his power, his glove, and his versatility around the infield are what is keeping him on this team and makes him much more valuable than Pablo Ozuna.

I understand that Ozuna is a good clubhouse presence and maybe loosens guys up, but if he wants to be on the bench, he should find a place on the DL because he's the one that's pretty useless to the team. He's quick and he hits lefties well, but he's not being used to the best of his ability and that's hurting the team right now.
