June 17, 200817 yr Can you only write-in one player per league? I just went to the MLB website to vote and I was gonna write-in Ramirez for 2B and Quentin for OF but I only see 1 write-in box at the bottom. Shouldn't there be a way to vote more than 1 person who is not on the ballot? The All-Star Voting system is already as screwed up as it can be and if this game is going to decide who hosts the World Series it needs a serious overhaul...starting with Red Sox/Yankees fans not deciding the lineups.
June 17, 200817 yr I've personally given up trying to get Quentin in the game, theres no chance of him winning a write in. He'll be there but he's not starting unless theres an injury.
June 17, 200817 yr Author Oh...I totally understand that no Sox are going to be starting...unless it's a pitcher. But I just wanted to do my part and keep Quentin atop the write-in votes list.
June 17, 200817 yr Voting for the All-Star starters is pretty much worthless.....your vote counts way more in a presidential race than it does in the all-star game....

June 17, 200817 yr QUOTE (wilmot825 @ Jun 16, 2008 -> 11:13 PM) Quentin and Crede should start, and Gavin should also make the team. Quentin is the only Sox worthy starter, A-Rod's getting hot again and Gavin won't be making it ahead of Lee, Marcum, Halladay, Santana, Kazmir, etc.

I mean, Q, Crede, AJ, Danks, Linebrink, and Bobby are all worthy of making the team. They won't because of stupid rules, but they are all doing well enough to make it.

Of course, none are Buehrle or Vazquez, so Francona doesn't know who they are and they are meaningless at this point. Regardless, it is funny you mentioned #3 of those 3 starters...Contreras is actually a somewhat recognizable name and John Danks has the 4th best ERA in the AL and 11th best in the majors. It's too bad ERA doesn't have more meaning in these choices...

June 17, 200817 yr Crede, AJP, Floyd/Danks, and maybe Q should all be in, but you know Varitek will win and I doubt Francona picks AJP for the back-up. It might be take another final man vote in to get AJ or Crede in.
