Every 'knock' I've seen on him in this thread (or others this year) is based SOLELY on the results of one month that came on the heels of him returning from an injury.

How does his stuff or makeup "suck" when everything else about him before and since that one month suggests that he is a very good pitcher? That makes absolutely no sense.

The guy can throw a hard sinking pitch 93-95 mph. And he has an above average changeup. He is an extreme groundball pitcher. And he strikes out 3-4 times as many people as he walks.

Those are facts.

It's also a fact that he was brutal a month coming back from injury... and that he has been MUCH better since... falling right back in line with his very good career stats.

A guy who pitches like Egbert will get a chance somewhere in MLB if he doesn't get it here.

I never said his stuff or makeup sucked. In my opinion Egbert isn't a great prospect, you think otherwise. I'll be very surprised if Egbert has a sustained career in the Majors as a starter.

lot of star power in this thread. I'm a huge eggy fan and hope he pitches for the sox soon.
