Are you bald or balding at a younger age than average?

Such a sad sad thread. I noticed thinning starting at 21. By 23 it was thin enough that it was noticeable to myself so I went with the buzzed look at about a level 3. I didn't have a bald spot at the back or the front, it was just a more generalized thinning. By 26 about, 2 years ago, I finally said screw it and I've been shaving it every other day since. It definitely bothered me for awhile being so young with thinning hair but thankfully there are women who can look past it. I guess it was karma for making fun of my dad for all those years. Hell I went bald about 10 years before he did. Even though I shave it I still think the hairline is recognizable but whatever, at least I balded with grace. I feel so embarrassed for those in the Combover Crowd who do the duty with no grace whatsoever. If someone offered me free plugs or Bosley or what have you, I'd take it but I'm beyond the point of being so bothered by it that I'd spend a significant amount of money or effort to fix it.

My, that was cathartic.

Damn flash....that was one informative post.

I have taken generic Propecia (Finpecia) before. I am not going to say exactly where I got it but it's made in India (most generics are) and I didn't go to a dermatologist to tell me what I already knew.

Generics are basically the same active ingredient just not made by the same process/steps that the original company developed. So in theory they should work the same.

So anyway, I took them for about 6 months and never noticed anything except it took me longer in the sack and sometimes never at all. It didn't inhibit my willy from getting happy just from finishing. So not advising anything for people with another problem BUT...wait that’s another thread....

I first started using Rogaine when I was about 20. It was summer during college and I was working 3rd shift in a factory. This is when I actually adhered to the 2 times a day thing because I could put it on before going to work at 11pm and put a hat on. Then use it again when I got home in the morning and went to bed. (I find that it makes my hair look like s*** all day long when I use it in the morning). After a few months of doing that I was getting people all the time saying how much more hair I had and I actually noticed that it was really coming back. This is when a product actually worked for me.

As I had stated in a post before my friend's mom is a dermatologist and she gave me 2 big cases of about 16 full bottles. They have since expired but I talked to her and she said that they will be fine for years to come. I use it most every night before I go to bed. Just once a day because of the reason I had mentioned above. I am not really going for the regrowing of hair thing, but I would like to keep what I got and this seems to be doing the job. I don't notice the hair coming off in the shower as when I do not use anything.

So that’s my story, I am sure for other people things work differently...but DAMN YOU GENETICS

Women seem to notice and care less as they get older. Women in their 20's notice and care, but by their late 20's and 30's, it's non issue. The most important thing is to NOT let it affect your confidence. Buzz it down, shave it, whatever, just be confident, THAT'S what women like.

Also, if it's really an issue for you, focus on improving things about your appearance that you CAN control, like your body and weight, keep your smile healthy and dress well. A lean, muscular, well dressed bald guy will get more looks from women than a fat guy in a wife beater with a full head of hair.

He's got the right idea here. Also when I work out substantially it seems to help with the hairloss as well.

Why did you quit taking it after 6 months? If it's because of lack of results, usually a year is the point to judge how it's impacting your hair.

Yea pretty much...when I noticed something with the gaine it was like after 2.5 months. So i got discourraged. It would also take like a month to get it in the mail, was still expensive in my book, and I was given a 5 years supply of rogaine. Basically came down to the results and money factor....

I got a girl I think I am gonna marry so who cares if I go bald and fat now right? ha
