whitesoxfan101
http://www.ajc.com/blogs/content/shared-bl...ou_want_to.html That part of the story is fairly familiar, repeated elsewhere around the country in recent years in schools both public and private. But it took a twist last weekend when Kacy returned to the field for her first game with her New Creation team only to meet objections by her opponents. “The East Atlanta Mustangs didn’t play us under protest but they were allowed to read a statement on their beliefs about female football players,” according to New Creation coach, Coach Ken Townley. “They used biblical verses from the book of Romans. I was very stunned by that.” I read through Romans looking for anything about female football kickers and found nothing. My best guess is that the Mustangs cited Romans 1:26, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature.” I hate people like this, absolutely hate them. They make the rationally religious (who are the vast majority of religious people) look bad, plus it could be argued that using non-existent bible verses to try and win a game shows you aren't a real Christian anyways IMO. This girl is amazing though, 14 years old and she can kick 50 yard field goals. Anybody regardless of gender that can kick a 50 yard field goal at age 14 is talented, and if she is consistent at all, I'd have to guess she will get looks for a college scholarship. StrangeSox
The East Atlanta Mustangs actions are just baffling. I'm not sure I can fully comprehend refusing to play a football game because a there's a girl on the other team and then using the Bible to support this nonsensical sexism? What? Good for her and her team, though. Hopefully she continues to do well and ends up kicking for a DI school somewhere.
