November 27, 200817 yr Wasn't it two years ago that we landed John Danks, or was that X-Mas break? I think it was Thanksgiving, and if that's the case, I'm thankful that KW landed John Danks.
November 27, 200817 yr December 23, 2006 Traded from Texas Rangers to Chicago White Sox for P Brandon McCarthy in 5-player deal Last season we had all the Torii Hunter nonsense around Thanksgiving. Edited November 27, 200817 yr by bschmaranz
November 27, 200817 yr Author QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 08:49 PM) December 23, 2006 Traded from Texas Rangers to Chicago White Sox for P Brandon McCarthy in 5-player deal Well f*** my ass. I'm still thankful for it. What are you all thankful for?
November 27, 200817 yr Too early to say Dayan Viciedo? I'm thankful that Javy Vazquez is on the trading block
November 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) Well f*** my ass. I'm thankful for your kind offer (not really). I'm thankful that for the first time ever, the Sox beat the Twins in a head-to-head pennant race.
November 27, 200817 yr Im Dankful that the Sox exceeded all expectations and went to the playoffs in such grand fashion(even if they bowed out early) Edited November 27, 200817 yr by kyyle23
November 27, 200817 yr I'm thankful that we have a GM with some balls. I don't know what I'd do if we had some one like Bavasi/Sabean running the show.
November 27, 200817 yr We got Thome around Thanksgiving after the '05 season and last year we got Scott Linebrink for Thanksgiving.
November 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (Jimmywins1 @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 09:20 PM) I'm thankful that we have a GM with some balls. I don't know what I'd do if we had some one like Bavasi/Sabean running the show. Or the Angels. Think of all we could've gotten for guys like Dallas McPherson, Brandon Wood, and co. There is no reason to believe Kenny would have sat on his hands over Miguel Cabrera last year like the Angels did. Kenny tried as hard as he could, but we didn't have the bullets (although I'm glad we didn't do that deal because we would have lost Johnny Danks, who is already better than the entire package the Tigers offered IMO).
November 27, 200817 yr I'm Dankful for the fact Danks pitched on 4/20 two years in a row. I forget who you are with the smokn' danks signature, but that's what got me behind Danks from the get go two years ago. I always try to rip Dank for Danks and it usually turns out pretty well.
November 27, 200817 yr Wasn't Rowand traded just before Thanksgiving? Maybe that's what you're thinking of.
November 27, 200817 yr QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 10:22 PM) Or the Angels. Think of all we could've gotten for guys like Dallas McPherson, Brandon Wood, and co. Maybe, but I think Cameron Maybin will be a stud...you can argue all you want about the merits of a starting pitcher versus a position player though. And A. Miller still has time to get his act together. Nobody gives up on lefty starters who throw in the 90's quickly.
November 27, 200817 yr hopefully next year we'll be looking back and being thankfully for jordan danks.... are there any more sons left?
