Hopefully that will happen. I think he is coming along though. Today he had 2 shots right up the middle and on Friday he had that long double to Center.
July 14, 200322 yr I can say one thing, if Konerko keeps hitting for the next 10 days then I think Carlos Lee's days in the Sox organization are as good as gone. They will trade him for a starting pitcher/reliever, imo. Also, I think Jerry Manuel would of probably been fired had the Sox not one today. I still say that by the 15th, if this team is still floundering, you'll see the Sox fire Jerry and give Backman about 10 days (till the 25th or 26th) to see if the team can compete with a new guy. If they can, then they'll add another arm. If they can't then they will blow the team up for next year and keep Backman aboard.

I really think Kenny has a similar plan in mind. For some reason I'm just getting this feeling that the time has come for Kenny to make a change. He's tried everything except firing the manager and the Sox don't have much time until they start selling, so now would be the time to do it. But I'm trying to think from a common sense stand point and there are many times that this organization doesn't do that.

Pretty much my sentiments too. I like Paul Konerko and I do believe whatever the problem was he has it worked out now. I really felt badly for him because you know he is a good hitter and competitor. He struggled badly the first half, but going 5 out of 10 in his last 3 games make me believe he is ready to start playing regularly again. A post mentioned believing CLee's days were numbered. Maybe so, but only if we keep Everett. I am not sure it will be this year either way. Really I have to repeat: There is nothing wrong with Konerko's hips, Jerry Manuel will not get fired, Kenny Williams is the GM and C lee won't get traded.
July 14, 200322 yr If PK comes around he will have some nice bookends for his slump the 2002 and 2003 ASG. Jerry's here for this season. We'll get another arm in trade for someone on our 40 man only if we get in the 3 or 4 games down and the Twins are not showing signs of life.

PK has gotta come around.... man i can remember posting that paul could have franks job and we unload the big man what i difference a day makes. still, if jerry can get paulie on track, it may save his job (that a double enton-something )
