February 7, 200917 yr • Swish-hitting: In the meantime, the Braves seem to have emerged as the club most interested in Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher. But there are indications the teams got hung up when the Braves asked the Yankees to eat some of the $22.05 million Swisher has coming over the next three years -- and got turned down flat.
February 7, 200917 yr Nady seems like the more logical one to go...because he's a FA at the end of the year. I do think they would prefer to trade Swisher, since they don't seem to have much of a desire to play Nick in CF and 1B is a bit occupied again.
February 8, 200917 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) Educate me. Why do they want to dump him already? I think the Mark Texiera signing might be the reason...just a guess.
February 8, 200917 yr QUOTE (G&T @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 01:06 PM) Remember when Swisher's contract was seen as a positive? Amazing turn of events for sure
February 8, 200917 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) Educate me. Why do they want to dump him already? They have no where to play him and his contract is no longer seen as affordable.
February 11, 200917 yr They have no where to play him and his contract is no longer seen as affordable. Thanks. I bet they wind up dealing him and eating some salary.
February 17, 200917 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) Educate me. Why do they want to dump him already? They've got too many corner outfielder/1B/DH guys with Tex, Damon, Nady, and Swisher, Matsui
