He's got some speed as a pinch runner and he's a veteran who is pretty calm in big situations and is a good mistake hitter, plus he's got a little bit of pop. He's not a good player overall, but as a bench bat and with no more than 2-3 starts a month tops in CF I think he's fine - and worlds more useful in PH situations than Owens would be as a backup. The problem is that if he's on this team he'll see way too much playing time one way or another.

That's more than I can say for our other options at CF. His PH stats were very good, so at the very least he should be cemented in no less than that role.

Any MLB player can get them.

Here's a big difference between me and the rest of the board: The board reads ozzie saying he's considering fields or BA leading off and they go apes*** saying how dumb he is. I get excited because it means he's not deadset on starting Wise or Owens as leadoff. But I'd bet ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS that our starting 2b leads off.

I think the reason people would be upset is not because he is now not insistent on one of the other 2 leading off, but he comes up with even worse scenerios, making one wish he would have stuck with Wise or Owens.
