Koch!

normally, i would be the first person to pile on that asshole billy koch. however, he was not the biggest joker in the deck tonight.

I guess since we got rid of Jimenez, now we have to all pile on Koch everynight. "Jesus, how could he give up that 1 run in 2 IP? He cost us the win." Bulls***...check the 1st and 2nd guys that pitched tonight, theres your loss right there.

I actually thought Koch looked pretty good out there. He had very good control, although I have no idea what his velocity was. Right now I think the Sox should turn the gun off when he pitches, so Billy doesn't look to see how hard his stuff is.

Plus he gave up a bloop single and a broken bat double, that was it.

Yeah, they didn't have the gun on, but it seemed his velocity might have been a little up, the hitters seemed to be behind a lot of his fastballs.

I think it could of been up, but I'm thinking it mainly had to do with his location being on and he was mixing speeds. If you mix speeds, when you throw your fastball it will appear a lot faster.

Its kind of like how some real good lefties can throw 88 but hitters would tell ya its like a 94 MPH fastball. Arm Angles can also lead to things like this. Such as a hitter who can hide the ball for a long time. I think part of this is why Dontrell Willis is so good, that and the fact that he misses low with everything.

Yeah it definitely could have been that too, I just really wish he'd get his velocity back, cause the sox are stuck with him for a while, he mine as well make himself useful.

Right now I'm gonna just go with the thought if he works on his pitching then he'll be fine. He may not be as good as before, but he'll still be solid. Koch is a battler, has a closers intensity and I still like the guy. He is firey and I think nothing pisses him off more then his performance since joining the Sox.

I have to believe he'll pull through this.

Thanks Jason, I agree....I feel like the last Koch defender on here most of the time...most people dont think that had we not made the trade, we'd have Foulke for 2003, win or lose, then when his contract was up, he was sure as s*** walking away, and we'd have zero from it all. At least now we have a closer signed for a couple years, and a decent LHP prospect to boot.

I hope you guys are right, maybe he finally will learn how to pitch instead of just throw, cause he's always been just a thrower, I can only hope, best case scenario, he learns how to pitch, and gets his velocity back.

KW's dumbass traded for a power closer and Botch is nothing close to power..... maybe finesse..... but finesse pitchers can't keep their 90 MPH fastballs belt high over the middle of the plate. I guess Beane didn't tell KW that Botch had aspirations to become a finesse closer

f*** BOTCH AND HIS 90 MPH "HEATER"

f*** WILLIAMS FOR TRADING FOULKE FOR THE LOSER BOTCH!

I just thought it was kinda sad Koch had to give up that one run and we lost 10-9. Maybe it is time to feel sorry for this guy, but there is no excuse for sucking this bad and claiming you aren't injured. He is hurting this team big-time.

Yeah, Koch's fault we lost this game. As bad as Colon was, Sanders was worse.

Huh? Koch's fault? Come on now, this is getting old....what about the fact that Sanders was left out there when he couldnt get the last out, and gave up a couple runs with 2 outs, giving up hits with 2 strikes on hitters? ANd don't even start throwing blame unless you are staring fatass Colon straight up. This guy has been bad for a while, throw the damn ball, quit trying to finesse strike calls out of the umps.

I'm sorry. I really meant to say it was NOT Koch's fault we lost the game. As I did mention the poor pitching by Colon and Sanders. Sorry again.

I kinda thought thats what you meant, but it gave me a good reason to post the boxscore from last night. Why is David Sanders still here? I'm thinking as soon as Wunsch is ready, Sanders will be gone.
