July 19, 200322 yr I think he's pitching like a 300 lb fatass finess wannabe pitcher. I can't figure it out....throw the damn ball, Colon..most guys in the league can't catch up with your high heat, f***ing use it!!
July 19, 200322 yr Colon stuff looked as good as ever last night. Unfortunately he's nit picking and as DJ said he's getting way predictable on lefties. I want Sandy to catch his next couple of games.
July 19, 200322 yr Author Colon stuff looked as good as ever last night. Unfortunately he's nit picking and as DJ said he's getting way predictable on lefties. I want Sandy to catch his next couple of games. in spite of hsc, i still think that colon can pull it around, he is a good pitcher.
July 19, 200322 yr in spite of hsc, i still think that colon can pull it around, he is a good pitcher. I just hope we don't offer him after 2003....I have no problems watching him walk away
July 19, 200322 yr I just hope we don't offer him after 2003....I have no problems watching him walk away i have no problems watching him walk away now.......f*** him.. hes done s*** since hes been here.. its like hes just waiting on going somewhere else to do good.......seems like thats the epidemic around these parts anyhow... sucks to be the farm system for all of mlb...........colon is just biding time.........look at what fat ass wells did for yanks.......colon wont be that far off...........
July 19, 200322 yr He better start pitching like he's capable...Or else he might be gone...And u know what willl happen then...He'll turn into the 20 gm winner he was a year ago right after leaving ths Sox....
July 19, 200322 yr Personally, I think we should ship him out while he's still got some value. A few more starts being beat around like he was the other night and we won't be able to get much for him at all...
July 19, 200322 yr I don't agree with that 1 bit. The way teams need pitching today there would be atleast 10 different teams that would be after his big ass...
July 19, 200322 yr As long as he is not here in 2004, I'm happy...with Buehrle, Loaiza, Garland...thats a start...then we HAVE to find 2 more starters, preferably one a lefty(maybe Josh Stewart). But with that being the case, we may have to trade Colon this year to get anything of value before he walks away.
July 19, 200322 yr He has a 5.86 ERA in his last 7 starts. He looks uninspired, like he wants to be somewhere else. If he turns things around great, but I don't expect him to do that or to be with us next year. A very overhyped pitcher IMO.
July 19, 200322 yr I totally agree, Colon is doing the same thing that Wells did to us in '01. Screw him he can leave next year. Just make sure we keep Loaiza. We could bring up someone like Rauch and sign another quality starter. Or maybe even bring up Honel??
July 19, 200322 yr I agree, Alomar has to catch for him. Colon unfortunately wants to work the outside corner, but Olivo is doing little to change that. As far as can he come back? anyone who thinks he can't is a moron. the guy has been a good pitcher for years now.
July 20, 200322 yr As soon as we get rid of him, Colon will become a 20-game winner with someone else. Thats the way it always is. Hes still got alot of trade value, much more than Loaiza. I say get a good shortstop prospect and a good reliever for him.
July 20, 200322 yr I don't think there is much to gain in trading him this year if we are still in the race. Even if he sux all year, he is a proven playoff stud and I wouldn't mind seeing him get a playoff start. I still get the feeling he will turn it around and I agree Sandy catching him is probably a big help.
July 20, 200322 yr Overrated? Overhyped? Hardly. When this guy wants to be a great pitcher, he can be. I just think that he's become part of the problem in the clubhouse. When you get your ass handed to you Detroit, you obviously didn't try that hard. That has to be the first time Detroit scored 10 runs in a game this year. We have 4 guys in the rotation that want to win every time out, no matter what. Garland has given us like 12 or so quality starts this year, and that's after having a s***ty April. MB has rebounded very nicely from his early struggles, and now he's almost at .500. And ELo has been dominant all year long, minus two mediocre outings. Whoever has been our #5 has pitched well, they have just flat out sucked....and then there's Colon. When he wants to, he can flat out make hitters look foolish. He just hasn't been himself this year.
July 20, 200322 yr Overrated? Overhyped? Hardly. When this guy wants to be a great pitcher, he can be. wants should be in bold like this-------> WANTS because thats the key word in that sentence.....otherwise when he doesnt feel like playing hes one lazy bastard......
July 20, 200322 yr I totally agree, Colon is doing the same thing that Wells did to us in '01. Screw him he can leave next year. Just make sure we keep Loaiza. We could bring up someone like Rauch and sign another quality starter. Or maybe even bring up Honel?? I do not agree, they are two different circumstances. Wells pitched very well for us until he injured his back, Colon has no such injury. The only similarities are their weight, their overall effectivness with the Sox, and their record after leaving here. Colon is a 'tub o' goo' who does not want to pitch for us. Trade him now.
July 20, 200322 yr colon is a tub of goo.. f*** him the sooner hes gone and we get someone in here who gives a s*** such as the case of loz. the better we will be.... wells on the other hand is a sell out tub of goo..... he wouldnt lose the weight for us to help his ailing back but he sure did clean up his act for king george and his cash.... f*** wells too......hes the worst kind of tub of goo.......sell out.........colons just a lazy ass tub of goo.........
July 20, 200322 yr I have to agree, he looks like he doesn't give a s*** out there and that's disturbing to me....
July 21, 200322 yr He sure has pitched poorly for us most of the time. I wouldn't be against getting rid of him. Maybe we can get some prospects back.
