July 1, 200916 yr Well it is interesting about Havlat though is he was healthy all year in his contract year....just sayin
July 1, 200916 yr It'd be nice if we could add a legit defenseman or a true power forward, but you can't argue with adding 40 goals. If we manage to re-sign Khabi and dump Huet, that's brilliance. Re-signing Havlat would be like Christmas.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:00 PM) BC and his deal is still a huge burden on this franchise. It isn't ideal, but saving money in the net will be a big help for the future for the Hawks.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:01 PM) Pierre LeBrun reports it is 12 years, $5.2 million per season for Hossa That is pretty cheap considering he had 8/9 million dollar per season offers last year.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) Couldn't the Hawks stick Huet in the minors if they really needed to? I doubt he has a two way contract. Some of the younger guys still do.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:07 PM) Matt Walker to Tampa...YES Fantastic. He was horrific in the playoffs last year.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:09 PM) I don't know how Dale is going to be able to trade Huet. Huet sucks Show every team a video of that leg save on Franzen...
July 1, 200916 yr So is Skille going to be ready for this season? I'd imagine if we don't re-sign Havlat he'd be up. Anyone got any info on him? What can we expect?
July 1, 200916 yr Kopecky 2 yr. at 2.4 million has signed with the Hawks as well according to Stuy's site. Hawks are raiding the Wings lol Edited July 1, 200916 yr by EvilJester99
July 1, 200916 yr Man, getting Hossa is great. Nice replacement for Havlat and probably cheaper if the LA rumors are true?
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:11 PM) Edmonton looks to be the only real landing spot, maybe the Avs. I really like this Hossa deal. Avs signed former Hawk Craig Anderson. But the Oilers are a definite possibility. Although I'm not so sure about Crawford or Niemi as #2 goalie. From TSN: Hossa's deal heavily front loaded. 53 mil for the first 7 years of the 12 yr deal. TSN Edited July 1, 200916 yr by CanOfCorn
July 1, 200916 yr Somebody's going to have to be dealt before next year. BC and Huet the two most likely to be gone.
July 1, 200916 yr Hawks are apparently close to trading Huet... TIFWIW per http://twitter.com/TheFourthPeriod
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:25 PM) Hawks are apparently close to trading Huet... TIFWIW per http://twitter.com/TheFourthPeriod I am curious who is in the mix.
July 1, 200916 yr Just thought this was interesting.... TSN says the Hawks were after Koivu if the Hossa deal fell through.
July 1, 200916 yr If Dale finds a way to sign Hossa and get rid of Campbell and Huet... he deserves executive of the year for 2010. I do not need to see anything else.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:27 PM) I am curious who is in the mix. How about Huet and Campbell for Souray and Horcoff?
July 1, 200916 yr DarrenDreger: Hossa will make $59.3 mil in the first 8 years and $3.5 over final four.
July 1, 200916 yr QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 01:38 PM) So, is Kopecky replacing Pahlsson? I think yes. I would think yes.. but I would have liked to have kept Pahlsson myself on the Hawks...Then again though I believe Kopecky is a RW. Has he played Centre b4? Actually he is a Center... never mind. I am losing my mind here Edited July 1, 200916 yr by EvilJester99
