That CQ seems to be looking a LOT better up there?

 

He looked good last night, and I heard (didn't see the games) that he looked good at the end of the Minny series as well. A healthy, 2008 producing TCQ + Peavy = ALC Division Champs!

I don't think I've seen him go opposite field yet, but yes, he's looking as if his swing is improving every game.

He could use a little work on his ass, but other than that, yes, he has been looking better.

He's been working on his swing... EVERYWHERE.

I liked the bit that Cowley did on Quentin last week from B & B, where he said the new Carlos Quentin was out “Carlos Quentening,” the old Carlos Quentin in the neurosis department, and that the old Carlos Quentin would look at the new one and say, “Dude, you’re way too high-strung.”

As others mentioned he hasn't been going opposite field much and he still appears to be laboring on the basepaths but if he continues to hit dingers it won't really matter

Stone mentioned the other night that Walker advised Quentin to try to pull everything. He supposedly told him something like, "Don't keep trying to hit the line drives to right center like last year because you're timing isn't good enough to do that now. Just keep trying to pull everything."

 

TIFWIW, but that's what Stone reported that Walker told him.

Okay, I can accept that long term. I don't want to see him get comfortable in that and JUST pull everything but it makes sense as he's getting his timing back.
