August 7, 200916 yr I think the September 3rd is mainly just trying to grab preliminary headlines. I think the most likely return dates are the 28th or the 2nd. I'm hoping for the 28th, so he can get his feet and pitching feel back just in time to face the Twins.

Pitching coach Don Cooper and general manager Ken Williams said Peavy will need a minimum of three rehab starts, which would make his first major league start with the Sox on Aug. 28 at New York. But Peavy's first start could be moved up to Aug. 23 against Baltimore or pushed back to Sept. 3 against the Cubs, depending on how he feels.
